Chantel’s Place offers a safe haven to victims of violence in Peel. Individuals who experience domestic or sexual violence are referred to Chantel’s Place via the emergency departments at Trillium Health Partners at the Mississauga site and undergo an assessment of their medical and psychological injuries. Those affected are also offered counselling. Equipped with resources including trained nurses and counselors, Mississauga-based Chantel’s Place is one of the first programs in Ontario that addresses the psychosocial, legal, medical and forensic needs of survivors and their support persons.
